This is a group for people who would like to improve thier fitness through hiking. Well mannered dogs are welcome. I would like to do about 1-2 hikes on the weekends. I will need another co-organizer or two to help run the hikes if more hikes are needed.
I challenged myself to do 12 5ks in 12 months. In the end it was the best challenge I have ever set for myself because it turned out to be an adventure than I had not anticipated on having. Anyways, I wanted to make the expereince more social. I know a lot of people sign up for races because of family or friends, but what happens when that person can't go and you don't have any body to do a particular race with you? I know, most people end up not doing the race in that situation! So, I figured c …
This group is to get people outside and active this spring! People can join the group for a couple different reasons. They can join to use it as a progressive program, if they are interested in getting involved in local races. Or, if people would just enjoy a leisure walk through the park!

Don't allow this winter to slip by not having contributed anything positive to your health- get in shape while everyone else is indoors hibernating. My goal is to meet 2-3 times a week, beginning at the end of November, at Portage Park and complete the 9 week Couch Potato to 5k program. Once we've completed that program we can continue adding to our runs until we're able to complete 5 miles comfortably. I am a beginner runner - we'll be beginning the program with only 1 mile of running at a pace …
